I want to contact a seller to ask a question about an item. I click on "Contact Seller", then I get to a page with a few standard question options and with "contact seller" at the bottom of the page. I click on that and a box comes up with everything greyed out except for "make an offer". If I try to type anything into the message area, a block border appears around everything. There's no way to enter or send a message. This happens using anything from Chrome on Windows 7 to edge on Windows 11, so it's not a system incompatibility issue. I've tried about a dozen different sellers - just to see if any of them would open a message gage in which is was possible to type a question - all with the same result. I assume everyone isn't blocking me since I have a 100% record with 900+ transactions as a buyer. I haven't tried messging a seller in over a year so I'm not blocked due to frequent messages. Are all sellers blocking all messages these days, am I doing something wrong?
It looks like the only way I could send a message to a seller is to make an offer and attach a message, but I don't want to make an offer, I want some additional information on an item.
Surely it's not supposed to work this way?
Here's an example (I blocked ou the seller's name because this isn't the seller I'm trying to contact)
Greyed out text. Black border if I try to type in box

You should be able to click on the "Send message" text line above the button, and then start typing your message.

Chrome and Edge are based on the same core code. Try Firefox or DuckDuckGo or Opera.

Click the Send Message (the link that doesn't look like a link) to reveal a dialogue box to type in:
put your cursor in the box and type away
attach a file with the left icon and "Send" with the right icon (airplane)
it may appear a little different on the app but basically the same
