Hi
I have bought multiple items from the same seller, in auction, closing the same day.
How do I stop eBay from automatic checking out so I can wait for a combined invoice from the seller?
Thank you for any help

The short answer is that if the seller hasn't opted out of automatic payments then there's no way to stop it. The best you can do is contact the seller to see if they'll combine and refund part of the shipping you'll automatically pay. It's an inelegant solution, and there's no way to force a seller to refund an overpayment, but it's the best eBay can offer.

Do the listings include info about combined shipping? If you can't find any info within their listings, contact the seller to ask if they offer combined shipping. It's good customer service to offer it to buyers but not required by eBay. If they will combine shipping for you, wait until the seller will sends you an invoice with the combined shipping.

There's no way for a buyer to stop the automatic payment of auctions or offers.
The seller has that set as a buyer requirement to require a method of payment prior to placing a bid.
If the seller offered combined shipping it would or should be stated in the listing and the seller would need to turn off the request for a payment method before placing a bid.

I have someone buy like 9 items today and paid for shipping 9 times because he can't 'even' send a combine asking notification(International Buyer today finally!)
He didn't ask for a refund...I just do it automatically on my own.
He is actually a 'repeat buyer' as well.
Most sellers do the right thing.
The trick here as a 'seller'...which might be why no refund right away.
A refund(shipping) comes out of the seller's 'available funds' immediately in seconds before we the sellers get your funds from the sale...so I wait until the 'pending funds' are in 'available funds'...for me it's usually overnight.

Hi!
Thank you for responding to my query.
I chatted with a knowledgeable eBay agent who agreed with your evaluation of this situation and left eBay some feedback requesting an option be offered to established buyers. Also, the seller I'm working with has generously offered a refund on shipping!
Thank you again!
