Buying DVD's from Canada

Hi, i want to buy some DVD's from a seller in Canada. There is some external taxes or procedures that i need to do in order to get my purchase, or once i paid it i just need to wait that it is delivered on my direction?
I'm on Uruguay, but i have a direction in United States (there is where i'm sending my purchase)

Your Canadian seller will be shipping to the USA where you have a freight forwarder?

No problem for the shipper.

Their responsibility for delivery ends  when the forwarder accepts the package.

You should know that when you use a forwarder many parts of the Money Back Guarantee (MBG) no longer apply, since the package is accepted by a third party.

If you find the purchase is "not as described" the MBG does apply, but the seller only needs to send a Return Shipping Label to the forwarder's address, not yours. It's up to you to get the unwanted purchase to the forwarder and persuade /pay them to complete the return.

Most forwarders process any import fees (duty, sales tax) for you, as part of their fees.

There is effectively no duty on goods shipped from Canada to the USA.

There will be state sales tax if your forwarder is in a state where this is charged. It will be charged to you by eBay when you are making a payment.

DVDs from Canada are Region 1 -- Uruguay is in Region 4.

Will those DVDS play on your DVD player?

That all depends upon what additional fees are determined by Uruguay.

You might want to contact your government regarding what additional fees may exist, since I don't think anybody on these boards might know what Uruguay law requires.

There may also be additional pre-paid import fees that you will need to pay the seller.
