Bid problems with items from Germany

Hi,

I live in Greece and I am not allowed to bid for items sold from Germany if there is no postage specified for Greece. This happens only for items sold from Germany. I do not have this issue for items sold from the US, UK, Italy, Croatia (checked). I can bid even if no postage is specified. Anyone has a clue?

Why would you bid without knowing the shipping charge to Greece? That's writing a blank check for whatever the seller wants to charge you for shipping. Sure, eBay can't force you to pay for the transaction if shipping is too much but then you'll get an unpaid strike. Two of them will get you blocked from bidding for a year. My best advice is if you don't see a shipping charge to Greece do not bid.

I know the shipping charge. My question is why does this happen only for items from Germany?

Maybe Germany sellers that don't ship to Greece know how to properly block countries they don't ship to. If they do then you can't  even bid.
