I got a totally crap DOA device from China. So I started a refund and bought something similar from another Chinese seller, this came and worked perfectly.
In the good sellers feedback for product brand X I mentioned don’t buy the product brand Y because “it came DOA, broke after 2 minutes and seems like an attempt to fill US landfills with trash”
Now a few days later I realize 90% of Chinese sellers (not the same 1) get the message “this seller has chosen to not sell to you” or similar.
What’s going on? I have 600+ feedback all positive and have never paid late.
What would cause only the majority of Chinese sellers to suddenly have me blocked?
Is this a typical thing on eBay?

There are millions of Chinese sellers. I too am curious how you've determined that 90% of them have blocked you? I think it's more likely that you're discovering that a great many sellers, and not just from China, check the feedback left of every buyer. And btw, all buyers have 100% positive feedback, as sellers can't leave them anything else.

I’ve been using eBay for years with PayPal and just think it’s an odd coincidence. Maybe 1 Chinese seller has many dozens of different usernames on eBay. But the two sellers in question have not blocked me so I doubt that.
If it gets worse maybe I’ll use aliexpress more often for electronic parts and stuff lol

Was it a single message from eBay that 90% of Chinese sellers “this seller has chosen to not sell to you”?
Or did you receive the notice “this seller has chosen to not sell to you” after you tried to purchase something from each of the Chinese Sellers?

It’s maybe 8 out of 9 Chinese listings now that say “this seller has chosen to not sell to you”. All different seller usernames out of this statistic. I’ve tried about 30 sellers. Some still allow but most do not.
I regularly buy items from China frequently as it’s how I source resistors and other electronic components. (I guess that’s coming to an end for me here though heh!)
Testing “buy now” in listings from US, Canada, UK, Japan, Isreal or anywhere else I am getting to checkout confirmation fine, so this restriction seems specifically around most Chinese sellers quite suddenly.
It’s not 100% of Chinese sellers who blocked me but it’s a vast amount of them.

Just didn’t think I’d have the majority of a single nation block me.
In fact since I’ve have such a good record/PayPal/and instantly pay, I didn’t think the majority of sellers in any country would have an interest in banning someone over 1 petty gripe about Chinese quality (left in positive seller feedback message no less!)

It is possible that some sellers have more than one account. There are ligimiate reasons to have more than one account. It is also possible some sellers may colorabate and inform each other about buyers.
I see posts on this forum where a user will look at someones feedback and announce to the forum they are blocking the poster because of the feedback they have left others. Somewhat of a loosly unoriganize effort to encourage others to do the same. Something like this could also go on in China.

I did not know this! (That buyers can’t leave negatives anymore.)
I did forget to pay for 1 item in January 2022 (auction ended and slipped my mind) so maybe that’s the root cause of this.
thanks!

No proof. Seems that I have read it. One source of items. (one business) Individuals have an account(s) to sell. That is their employment............... to sell the items on eBay for that source. Sting one, you sting them all.

I don't see where you have left negative feedback? Seller must have had it removed by eBay for policy violations.

OP referenced the bad experience with another seller when leaving (+) feedback for the good transaction.
Could have been the seller in the next cubicle. Word spread quickly around the office.

Many of the sellers who are selling what appear to be identical items other than the brand are using the same company to fulfill orders, either in the US or the PRC.
An undesirable buyer for one would logically be an undesirable buyer for all. This should not be a big surprise.

Those sellers all ship from the same warehouse in USA, hence they all can block the same buyer.
