It's been more than a year since the ADULT ONLY section was supposedly eliminated. However, items continue to be tagged as "Adult only - Requires verification"?! While I personally have never sold anything on eBay, according to sellers who I have known for more than 15-years, eBay is adding the tag. And this is true for items that are fully compliant with eBay policy. As an example, please see the attached listings recently posted under "Collectible Vintage Pinups (Pre-1970)".
It's also important to note you must click on the 'verification' link in order to view the item which is an extra step that slows down the review of multiple items and should not be required.
Thoughts and comments are very much appreciated.
THANKS and TAKE CARE!

I had no idea how well they were doing for impressions and such and I was too frustrated. An eBay representative even told me to remove the listings and relist them and it would fix the issue, which I did, and the "Adult Item - Requires Verification" was still there, along with the additional problem that now all of the watchers and views on those items were gone because I relisted them. This problem needs to be addressed and solved because I do not know what the next step is. At the moment the only way to get nude paintings onto eBay is to flagrantly disobey their policies which I refuse to do.
You could try using sell similar instead of a re-list.
However I can see you have 269 listings and none of those have the adult verification thing on them.

I get that ebay is trying to determine/protect adult content from being displayed, but why do they link what they believe is adult CONTENT with the title of the item? This should be 2 separate checks. If it is deemed adult content, don't display the PICTURE. Then check the title for adult KEYWORDS, which is a much easier check. Then if the title passes, at least display the title of the item. That way if the user is looking at a list of items, at least they have an idea if they want to pursue the 'verification'. The picture for "MUTOSCOPE CARD ARTIST PINUP GIRLS" SITTING PRETTY " UNCIRCULATED NICE!" might be questionably adult (it isn't), but at least the title is definitely not, so as a USER I wouldn't have to click in to each item to determine (lack of) interest in that item.
Ideally it should be under the person's control who is viewing the items. They should be able to turn this on or off at their own discretion. But keeping the CONTENT check and TITLE check separate would be a big help and should be easy to do. Programatically, this could be done but not sure if it is possible within ebay's existing framework without a lot of code rewriting.
And for what it's worth in the above example: Same seller, same category, same title, 2 different listings. One listing requires verification, the other does not. But you can find BOTH listings by searching yet the title doesn't display in one? 😀

Two things:

I just found a couple of my listing with this problem. I tried ending the listing and making a simular listing but those were also flagged. I then went to the title of my listings.. I sell shoes and the two listings in questing had straps. I had the phrase "strap on" in the title. I removed that thinking it would flag as a sex toy. Problem solved! They are now visible.

I am a painter of nudes, not sexy ones, either! I tried revising some paintings' listings with the "Nudes" category eliminated and the word "Nude removed from title/description. The paintings I revised were then removed totally from my Ebay store and I got messages saying I can't relist them. So that made things worse!

That sounds totally probable! But my images are only 2 yrs. old or so....I will still try re-uploading some of them to see if that works. Could there be an image-recognition bot that will recognize the rejected ones and kick them out again?

Perhaps someone can help me. I am trying to list a nude painting by MARK KAZAV -and am receiving the following message Adult item Only Requires Verification.
There are quite a few nude paintings by the same artist listed,
Why am I having this problem and how do I get verified?
I'd love to know.
