Rommel Battle of Tobruk

Hello - I purchased this book off eBay several years ago from someone who had acquired it from Brigadier Hugh Murray Johnstone McIntyre, who saw time in North Africa on behalf of the British Army during WWII. This book is signed by several members of Germany's M.G.Batl.8, who got it handed to them at the Battle of Tobruk in April 1941.

I'm looking for assistance in deciphering the upper inscription, including the name of the recipient, and the names of those who appear at the bottom of the lower German inscription.

Re: Rommel Battle of Tobruk

Try getting a picture straight-on of each page separately. That might be easier to read.

The sloppy cursive is quite difficult. I can only make out the part in English (lines 4-6, top of the right hand page).

I think it is much better to stay

shoulder on shoulder with the

dessert rat's.
