Thank you satnrose! I hope I can join in here. This is a book that I sold a few years ago out of my "Keeper" Shelf that sold for way more than I paid for it. Then I pick one up at a yard sale for a dime that sold for #26.00+!

Delaneys Desert Sheikh

Hope I did this right?

A book that looks like nothing.

marsail,

Incidentally, I noticed that you say in your auctions that "We are not responsible for uninsured shipping" -- you should take that out, because the seller is ALWAYS responsible until the package reaches the buyer. If insurance isn't purchased and the item doesn't arrive or arrives damaged/broken, you will have to refund the buyer, especially since you accept paypal (if you don't, paypal will simply remove the money from your paypal account and give it back to the buyer). Insurance is to protect the SELLER, not the buyer.

When you list an expensive and/or fragile item, always either require that the buyer purchase insurance, or purchase it yourself. For very low-cost items it's not strictly necessary, so long as you can afford to refund "out-of-pocket" if the item is lost or damaged.

I hope you don't mind my pointing this out -- some sellers simply aren't aware that insurance is to protect the seller, and they can end up being out quite a bit of money if an expensive item does arrive damaged. So this is just some friendly and hopefully helpful advice. 🙂

The newest index will be posted in pieces today...

As satnrose knows i've been trying to post the newest index for several hours but there has been a glitch in the eBay system on posting long messages on the message boards the last couple of days.

So per his instructions i'll attempt to post the latest index in five smaller chunks to see if that works... anyone wanting to print a complete list should first copy and paste the pieces into one long document on their computer and do a little editing before hitting the print button.

There are two bogus temporary entries on the list... let's see who can be the first eagle eyed to spot them... the reward for being first? Your name will be forever listed on this thread as the greatest... the winner! Second and third place? We don't want to hear from any losers on this list... do we? 8>)

The latest index to "A Book that Looks Like Nothing"... 03 Apr 2008

In the interest of saving space (and not posting here a repetitive detailed explanation on how to use this list) this is an index to this thread and appears at the top of each page. Reference numbers are approximate since eBay later deleted three postings in the #700 range... for more details please refer to the middle of page #21 posting #837 (used to be #838) dated 05Mar2006
