Just found this one at an FOL bookstore, I don't even know why I picked it up... bright red jacket, mixed in with the Danielle Steele's... I guess I'm developing the radar?

Phantom by Susan Kay 0385302967

Not a huge sum, but worthy, the lowest price on the River is $79

Phantom is a goodie. Get it listed you will sell it within a day or two. Of course now that the word is out more copies will probably show up. The race to the bottom will begin............

I mentioned Recuerdos de Santa Fe by Willard Clark in the garage sale thread, just finished watching another up for auction, I had no idea it was that valuable, bid up to $142 (reserve not met) there's very little info to google. SO maybe it DOESN'T look like nothing... but it isn't a "fancy" book, very plain but heavy 100# paper and beautiful typeset. I listed mine based on the completed auction results, hoping for a quick sale. This is one of those books you're sorry to find out has value, because I wanted to keep it!

Vintage concrete books especially those that target the home owner and demonstrate making containers, planters, stepping stones, walk ways, patios and fences. Mid century does especially well.

A book that looks like nothing.

I bought a third Edition AA book today at a thrift store for $0.25. I know it not worth alot but I figured for a quarter it didn't matter. My question is, when I do a search on this I find many say Third Edition but it will say First printing or fourth printing and so on. How do I now what printing it is. Mine has a DJ and it say "This is the Third Edition of the Big Book, New and Revised. The Basic Text for Alcoholics Anonymous". Thanks for any help.

I had an interesting experience tonight. I found two similar books illustrating the same pattern.

I've seen these before and not paid any attention to them: USDA Yearbook of Agriculture. The first one I found was from 1957, and inside was a stamp showing it was from the office of a US senator from Delaware, though not signed.

Later on I found another one. This one was 1970, the same Yearbook of Agriculture, except this one had a pasted down letter on the stationary of US Representative P.S. (Pete) DuPont, and included a nice hand written signed letter, though it didn't name the recipient. However the previous owner had a name stamp on the first inside page.

I'm guessing this may be a general thing, that these USDA copies were sent out to constituents. I'm wondering what other sort of Government publications this may occur with.

Anyway it was neat since I know a collector who is hot for DuPont related items and they might be quite interested in this one!

Here's a list of all the books mentioned from the beginning of the discussion that could be found in the last couple of days (the links to auctions are only good for a short time so those aren't included). Hope some of you will print the list and take it with you when you go book hunting... happy hunting!
