Re: tax fraud

I had a difficult time locating information on the Florida tax page, but according to other online sites, Florida appears to have these tax conditions:

https://www.bgasc.com/florida-sales-tax-gold-silver-bullion-coins

Florida sales tax will not be charged for any U.S. legal currency coin, nor will it be charged for any Gold, Silver, Platinum, or Palladium bullion items including non-U.S. coins if the total amount of a single sales transaction for these items is greater than $500.

The state of Florida requires the collection of sales taxes ... on (1) copper products; (2) accessory items; (3) processed items; and (4) Gold, Silver, Platinum or Palladium bullion items or non-U.S. Coins if the total sales invoice is less than or equal to $500.

Slabbed coins are considered "processed" items in some states.

@jfra8480

The law has only changed recently ... and online sales may be different from in-person sales.

Why don't you contact the AG's office (as you mentioned in another thread) and ask whether ALL coins purchased online are exempt from tax

If they are all exempt ... then you'll be a hero, as you can alert the AG's office to the problem, and they can take action to set eBay straight.

If they aren't all exempt ... then you can get the true facts from a source you trust ... (instead of the eBay Community).
