return accepted by seller in error

What can I do If I inadvertently accepted a return from buyer while I was still trying to resolve the issue? ebay customer service said they cannot remove the selection on website but that the issue is still negotiable.

I was exploring my options and I clicked on 1 of 4 possible options.  I assumed there were further steps to this option but apparently that was all it took. I informed buyer previously I would refund purchase price but original and return shipping would be on them. What can I do now?
