"Shipping Rules" Flat vs Calculate vs none !

Like an idiot I fell for a dumb message to use "business Policies" on my listings & have now caused myself endless work on all my listings 😞

BUT HERE IS THE CURRENT Question ??

IN Combined shipping discount:

#1 Is there still no real provision for when an item ships in more than ONE box (except guessing a price & adding it to handling) ?

#2 Using   'APPLY MY RULE'  I can have various choices to select from if it's a "Flat shipping rule", but only one choice if for a "calculated rule" ??

#3  If I choose NOT to click Apply my rule, for  multiple purchases does it just add additional pounds to the shipment ?

#3a    If I choose NOT to click Apply my rule,   & it's a calculated "USPS Flat Rate" it does nothing , even though if I choose for instance a small FRB, & multiple purchases won't fit in ??

Re: "Shipping Rules" Flat vs Calculate vs none !

#1 - correct. To ship multiple boxes, you have to work around the system.  There are several ways.  If you want more info on how, reply back and we can explain some we have found.

#2 - correct.  There is only 1 calculated shipping rule.

#3 - yes, the default for calculated shipping is to add the weights together with no adjustments.

#4 - correct - there is nothing to calculate on flat rate - the systems assumes all items will fit in the same box.

So.....   One would think a reply of Correct , correct, Yes, & correct, would make someone happy !   But alas just another example of the great almighty Ebay ignoring the true needs of it sellers...

I'm sure I know Ebays official answer would be: offer FREE Shipping !  Because of course whether we sellers make any money is strictly of no concern to them... 😞
