possible fraud

I have sold an item (but haven't received the funds) and the buyer asked that it be sent to a different address. I googled that address and there has been fraudulent activity associated with that address. what should I do?

You are required to ship to the address Ebay provided you with the payment notification in order to keep the seller protection.

If you have verified that it was actually your buyer that asked you to ship it to a different address, you can tell them to request a cancellation, then you can relist the item so they can re-purchase the item using the correct shipping address when they go through the Ebay checkout page to pay for the item.
