When I try to link my bank account to my eBay it tells me there is an error. it is the right account as I have done this 6 times and it says it every time. I am wondering what to do so that I can begin selling on eBay and receiving my payouts.

Are the bank account data and the eBay data EXACTLY the same - so if the bank account name is John W Smith and the eBay account name is John E Smith, then they don't match.

How would I change the name on my ebay to math the name that is exactly on my bank account

They are not the same but when I changed my name on ebay to match the spot where it let's me put banking information in my name does not change to what it needs to be

Go to

My ebay > Summary > Account > Personal information > Addresses

Select 

Registration address, email and phone number

Change your name here to match the name on your checking account.  If you have a middle initial or name, type it in the First Name field.  For your address, make sure it is a physical street address and not a P.O. Box (you can change it later)
