no verification code from eBay.

I have been a casual seller and buyer on eBay for 14 years and had no problems until now. I listed an item for sale and then was sent to verify your phone number, checked it all over and pressed continue. Site says it is sending me a verification code but nothing happens either to my landline or my mobile. I spent 4 hours on two days on the agents line being passed to six different teams who hasnt helped one iota. I am no further forward and my listing is still in drafts. 

Has anyone any idea how I can get up and running again please.
