getting a refund when order entered as guest but then I set up an account

I entered an order as a guest and asked that it be canceled 10 minutes after.    Seller has not shipped the item and at one point I saw a message from seller that ebay wouldn't let seller cancel it and asked if i had a paypal account.  I can't seem to find that message again.  I set up an ebay account after the order thinking it would help me resolve this.  Now when i go to the guest order and click anything-cancellation, contact seller etc- I get a popup saying welcome you are already registered and then I have no choice to go anywhere from there.  Would it make things any worse if I canceled my account that I set up after the order?  Will I then be able to work thru this and get my refund? It seems the seller is okay with canceling since it has been several weeks since I ordered and status says shipped November 3  (which was several days after i ordered )but doesn't show delivered so I'm thinking maybe they had to show shipped since they were having trouble with ebay letting them cancel.  (the reason I canceled is picture of item did not match description which I realized when I read the confirmation)

Re: getting a refund when order entered as guest but then I set up an account

The guest account is separate from your registered account, and the two can not be merged and can't help each other.  I could see that trying to log into your guest account with the same email that is now shared with your registered account could be a problem. Are you able to access your guest account from the link in your guest email?

Perhaps this page will help you get to the order details within your guest account:

https://www.ebay.com/help/returning-item/buying/returning-items-bought-guest/returns-refunds?id=4065

It that doesn't help, then scroll to the bottom of the page to request a callback from a human.
