Hi there. I accidentally pushed the button to close my account as I was still starting to set it up. Ebay canceled my request but now the account has an email address provided by ebay (bunch of letters.ebay.com) and I need to change it back. But when I edit the email address and input my original email address the system says that email was already taken. And when I input a new gmail address, created for this, the system says the email is not working. Ebay agent says the only option is to delete my new account and start over with a new account but I would need a new phone number and I don't have that. He also said this happens every so often and IT couldn't change the email address. Please advise.
