So, just a month and a half ago, I noticed that eBay was withholding 20% of my sales and sending it to the Mexican government because a new law had been signed in by the Mexican president. There was a condition that it would only be 1% if the seller provided their RFC (Sort of like the Mexican version of a social security number.)
I did that when I started this account in Mexico 2 years ago, when they made me switch from PayPal to Payoneer, when they had me send every type of document in to verify my account, when I found out about this, 1 month ago, 2 weeks ago, 3 days ago, today. I've sent them the OFFICIAL QR coded RFC and they continue to withhold the money.
So, it's a lot of money that they withhold and I'm pretty aggravated because it thins out my gains. Here are the answers given by eBay to get this fixed.
1. Create a new eBay and Payoneer account to avoid the taxes being withheld.
2. If you had correctly set up your account, you wouldn't be charged anything.
3. Your RFC is being verified, but we don't know when it'll be ready.
4. 20% is such a small amount, it shouldn't affect you.
5. Contact your local trusted Mexican tax advisor for help.
6. Have you called Payoneer?
7. We don't deal with taxes.
8. Have you verified it's YOUR RFC and not someone else's?
9. You'll get the money back, just not from us.
10. STOP SELLING - I kid you not.

This is enough to make people hate eBay and Payoneer even more. Pffffffftttttttttt....stop selling.... Can anyone help me here?
