I've been a Top-Rated Seller+ for many years. Recently, there was a rough storm that hit central Florida that knocked out my internet and wi-fi for 4 full days. During that time, I had 10 sold items pre-packaged into 4 separate orders (one order consisted of 6 (of the 10 separate purchases) that the buyer wanted mailed together for a combined shipping discount), that I was able to mail within my shipping-agreement window and that were received by the respective buyers successfully. However, I was unable to upload my tracking information until days after my internet service was restored. eBay, nevertheless, told me my seller status would be lowered because tracking information had not been entered into their system for 10 items on a timely basis.
I argued that this was an unpreventable "act of nature" and that I had entered the tracking information as quickly as I could after service had been restored. Despite a Representative telling me that I shouldn't be punished for an "act of nature" the "ruling committee" said they would go ahead and lower my status, ignoring that all orders were mailed on time and that 6 of the 10 affected orders were actually 1 order, also mailed on time. Since Southern Florida just got ravaged by Hurricane Ian, am I now to believe that all of the eBay storm victims will be negatively penalized by eBay for dereliction of their iron-clad business standards?
Who can I talk to within eBay that possesses critical thinking skills and traffics in solid common sense and Customer Servicing tenets? Thank you!
