Anyone know how I can get in contact with someone from the eBay authentication program? I purchased an oversized slab of a rare item. Only 14 graded copies in existence. The item was shipped to eBay's authenticity program but wasn't authenticated due to the item being "miscategorized". The item was then packaged by eBay (or their 3rd party authenticator) and shipped to me. The card arrived in an oversized box with tape on it from USPS indicating the item was "Received in Damaged Condition". Thankfully, the item survived but the PSA slab now has a significant scratch which wasn't there before. How can I contact someone from the authentication program to request they pay for the reslab? This is 100% on eBay, not the seller.
Additionally, what irritates me even more is I specifically told eBay at the 2023 National Sports Card Convention that their authentication program was not packaging oversized slabs well and that it was only a matter of time before something was damaged. Well, here we are...
Any help would be appreciated.

@ashamoun Unfortunately the only way to handle this is to return it for a refund within 3 days of the date of delivery.
The seller could work with you to file a postal insurance claim since the box was marked damaged and then give you a partial refund.

Appreciate the response. I really don’t want to do that. It’s a rare item and I’d rather just pay for the reslab. It’s also not the sellers fault at all. This was damaged after the eBay authentication process. This is on them and I’m hoping they’ll step up and give me the money for the reslab. If not, they’ll simply be able to add me to to the list of people that swear off buying on their platform.

@ashamoun You can contact customer service but the postal insurance claim is the best option, eBay will say return for refund. It won't hurt the seller or cost them anything. I recommend Social Media as the agents are more experienced.
Here's how to contact eBay customer service:
eBay agents are working from home so you have to request a call back or live chat.

2. Request a call back
3. Or you can also contact customer service by sending a PRIVATE message on social media. Customer service verifies your identity before responding.
