For over a month, I've been dealing with getting an Access Denied message when using the new Bulk Listing Tool. I can use the photo uploader, but as soon as I begin typing data into a data field, I am locked out of eBay with a message of "Access Denied, blah blah blah..." (see attached image). eBay representatives act like this is something new and promise it will be fixed by the "specialized team," but nothing changes. It has now gotten to where I cannot access eBay in any form through our home network.
A Google search led me to multiple threads on this forum that were incorrectly marked as solved, showing this has been an issue since at least 2016. Most solutions are along the lines of "clear your cookies," "reset your modem/router," "change your IP address," or "you didn't type the address in correctly." Been there, done all of that.
The real reason for this denial of access, which was mentioned deep in one thread, is that eBay contracts with a CDN (Content Delivery Network, I think), and that entity has flagged my IP address as suspected of attempting a DoS attack. This was determined by visiting the CDN, Akamai, and entering my IP address. From there I was able to request an investigation, but there is no timeline given for resolution. I am currently on hold with the 17th eBay rep to which I have been passed along, and they've been silent for quite a while.
I can only access eBay through the worthless-for-sellers app, or by using my limited mobile hotspot. I cannot directly print shipping labels or list the pile of items I had planned to list yesterday and today.
This issue is at least 7 years old, why is it still a problem? Would closing our 2 stores and not buying from eBay anymore really make any difference? We need this income and have spent 8+ years providing the best service we can to our customers, but I can take everything we have to the local auction house and be done with it. Why pay these ever-increasing fees for ever-decreasing services?
Has anybody else found their way through this problem with a legitimate solution? What eBay employees can I @ to get a real answer on this forum?
