declining a return

I can't afford this return it's a $100+ order with shipping and I'm literally in poverty I started selling again because I'm so poor

I'm declining the package, I'll return to sender if I have to and if you guys don't like it I'll find something else to do

My listing said NO RETURNS, I told the buyer NO RETURNS, they bought to wrong item I stated that model I pulled it from, perhaps there was a miscommunication there somewhere in the title not sure, yet either way I can't afford this, I'm in crisis as it is so I need a supervisor on this the automated system is trash can't even chat

The listing is for parts not working too if that makes a difference, I literally have a hole in my jaw because my tooth fell apart I'm fighting infection with no medical intervention I'm just stating my situation I need an exception or something because I'm trying to do things properly and this platform isn't serving me how I felt it should.

hey and this AI stuff doesn't help i don't know if it wrote something in there that it shouldn't have or like had me pay less attention to the keywording could be that. I used to sell more regularly back in like 2015 so this setup is new to me.

Re: declining a return

If you decline the package you will lose both your money and the item.

It won't end well unless you accept the return.

Did the buyer open a case for the return?  Was it a case for not as described?

Please considering working through this return because you will not be able to decline a package and keep your money.

Re: declining a return

well I'm looking at reporting to file complaints to some federal agencies on this because I'm not just going to sit back and take it, someone needs to look into my situation, I've been trying to get feedback from the support chat and the accessibility there is very limited, I have to come over here to the forums and spill my situation like this that's deplorable

Re: declining a return

I'm not even setup to accept a return, USPS could very well not be able to deliver it or like keep it at the post office. I have no transportation I'm negative 6 in the bank while no scheduled income how would I go pick up the return necessarily, that's the facts of my situation. I rather this work for all of us obviously yet when it comes to the case now it's bad, the accessibility to help is making things so much worse right now. I wanted to ask a support chat the details, I attempted to register some shortcuts in my bookmarks to better access the support systems it's failing to be effective because of how their system is coded, like the link to the chat feature is javascript you can't even set it as a URL in a bookmark system, I presume so that they can reduce those costs that's just my take.

Re: declining a return

Hi @deltadistributions

I am truly sorry about your current financial condition ... but I'm afraid it doesn't give you the option to refuse a return if the buyer claims the item is 'not as described'.

The only item(s) you sold recently is a Cuisinart food processor mixing bowl. Your only choice is to send the buyer a prepaid shipping label to return the item OR to refund the buyer in full and let them keep the item.

If you don't do either of the above ... the buyer will bring eBay into the claim, and eBay will refund the buyer with your money and let them keep the item.  You'll also receive a defect and forfeit your fees, which will hurt you with future selling.

Are you referring to the notation on your listings where you say you will be donating 50% to Goodwill charity?  How would you be able to do that being as broke as you are?

Re: declining a return

I mean the AI description feature, AI is infamous for it's hallucinations and "drift" is the term, meaning it gets worse as time goes by, the point is that it can actually make things more difficult than what it's worth.

The charity aspect to my listings is something I had to develop IN ORDER to get ahead, which isn't working anyway you'd think it would help get me at least one sale, not yet. So I implemented that after this last cuisinart sale.

You don't need any amount of money to be able to be a charity listing, it just gets deducted from your sale.

Anyway, I understand that there is a strike for going against their decisions, and ebay is incentivized to overlook you and your situation, that's the problem. Yeah amazon has 24/7 support for sellers, ebay has this frustrating convoluted support interface, they don't want to hear it they want you to take it and don't talk back.

Like I said I do have other options, just because I'm poor doesn't mean I'm going to act desperately if we can wrap our heads around that. I say that because theres this bias when people learn your in poverty, people can be treated like poverty is an infectious disease, just saying. Anyone can end up in poverty, united we stand together we fall.

It's a problem this could be a better situation yet it's not and I'm ready to consider that theres other factors here than just my operations. I like ebay, I think it offers a better selection than even amazon, I'm born here in southern california I like supporting california big tech, I wouldn't be speaking up if I didn't care. And I'm really liking the charity capabilities in light of my own situations, but if it's not going to be able to serve me and my initiatives properly according to industry norms, like accessible support for one, then it's not suitable for now.

that bowl cost me like $1 that's the least of my worries, it's from goodwill wholesale outlet. I have los angeles SCORE contact, maybe they can get some feedback on this, also already in the process with complaining to the FTC. I'm fine with it not making a difference I'm doing it all anyway and more.
