changing my email

I have a old email address I'm trying to remove and put in my existing email, but there is another account that someone hacked and was using my email. I called and talked to this woman I could barely understand and told her my user name isn't mine and I wanted to change my email and close that other account and all she did was give me back my user name, This is so frustrating. can anyone help me. I'm not getting emails from ebay, how am I suppose to sell anything or buy if I can't receive emails to the correct address?

You may not be able to use the same email address if it is associated with another eBay account.

Ordinarily I would suggest looking into using a variation of the email address that points to the same email inbox, but it may not be the best idea to use the email inbox that is shared with an eBay account that may have been hacked or hijacked.

You should probably contact eBay about having the hacked eBay account either restored to you or closed first here:

Make sure you do not close the wrong account! Even if you close the account, you may not be able to immediately use the same email address for another eBay account.

In the mean time, use an entirely new email address for this eBay account.
