cannot edit a listing

I cannot edit a listing as aparently there is a question from a buyer outstanding but the question is older than 90 days so cannot reply to it going round in circles

I don’t believe having outstanding questions prevents one from revising an item. 

I think it more likely that you have made an offer to a buyer and that offer is still valid. When an offer is made, the description field cannot be revised while the offer is in effect.

To clear your question, go to Seller Hub. Find the item with the question. On the left of the item’s thumbnail image will be a little blue down arrow. Click that and then look for “mark question answered.” Click that and it will mark the question answered, and you will no longer see the “answer question” notification.
