It's irritating – it irritates me too – but it is not the seller doing it.  Don't blame the seller.  It's eBay doing it.  When the seller buys a shipping label through eBay, and buying it through eBay gets the seller a discount, when the seller buys that label, that's when eBay puts that "been shipped" message on the listing.  Many buyers have complained about this, but their complaints fall on deaf ears.

This last purchase  is probably the most extreme. The seller and I are in the same time zone so take that into consideration. I purchased at  approximately 12:30 on Wednesday it is now Tuesday a week later and still not actually shipped. I contacted seller. Seller stated they wait 3 business days till they ship and Monday is a holiday.  To me **bleep** awful service but anyway according to eBay it shipped Friday afternoon. eBay does need to fix their policy on how they represent when an item ships and quit making things look better than they actually are. Right now I could be ignorant and blame the shipping service for not processing the shipment not the lazy seller. And thank you for the explanation and information. Very helpful!

Nothing to do with being lazy.

If the seller has a 3 day handling time, they don't have to get it shipped until today.

I do wish Ebay would show the sellers handling time in the listing.

Have a great day.

You are correct. But after 6 days; business days or not there should be way more than  ample time during down time throughout those days to package and ship the item. Back to my initial point eBay or the seller should not indicate  that the item has shipped until the shipping service has possession of the package.  Right now according to shipping history on eBay the package shipped Friday.  The seller still has it.
