Why cant we select a shipping method?

The USPS in my area is a joke. My most recent purchase was delivered 150 miles from me today. The worst thing is the package has taken two weeks to travel 500 miles. Why do we not have the ability to chose our shipping preference when we purchase items. I would rather pay more than deal with the frustration and wait weeks for the item.

The seller chooses what to put in their listing..and it goes according to the sellers preference because the seller is the one financially responsible if something happens with the delivery. 

Buyers are in total control of choosing which listings suit  their personal needs,. Don't buy from listings if you do not like the sellers terms.
