Why can't I see the returned items in my ebay summary screens as a buyer?

I have not found any way to see returns to actually print labels other than by searching the help screens which then magically tell me that I may have some returns that I have to pay attention to.  This seems pretty stupid.  Why do they not show up with the same level as the purchases?  They seem like they might just be related in a slight way.

Buyers go to their Purchase history in  order to file a Returns Request.  Scroll down to Returns & Cancelled orders.  I believe that is where you would see the return shipping label when the seller agrees to the return.
