It’s a pretty simple question. I’ve been trying to think of another example of a service where the people working at the store have to pay to be there while the customers that come in don’t have to pay to use the facility/service provided.
sound confusing? It is not.
all funds from the transaction that ebay takes for itself (fvf etc) come solely from the seller. The buyer is never directly charged for using the platform even though they are using the same services (minus the storage of digital info. In the form of ads)
I know the response to this is for sellers to just add that cost into their final cost and it is just the same as buyers being charged -
but it’s not.
eBay shouldn’t force sellers to do that work for them (after all what are they taking money for? I thought it was to provide a service.) and eBay shouldn’t force sellers to take the negative impact of higher prices(less transactions) all on their own.

If ebay starts charging buyers they will all leave and not come back.
No other website charges buyers .
