Why am I suddenly being charged Insertion fees?

I have been a long-time seller with a basic store and now as of what appears to be 8/28, I am suddenly being charged insertion fees, is there an issue or am I missing something that I have just come across?

With a basic store, you get 1000 fixed price listings plus 250 auction style listings in specific categories.  Are you listing in categories that are not in those categories?  If not, then are you using optional features that cost extra (subtitle, Bold title, 2 categories, 1-day & 3-day duration, Reserve fee, Gallery Plus) ?

If you have a listing with 10 available, it counts as 10 listings.

Typically, the reason would be that your insertions for the month exceeded the 1,000 free insertions allocated to a "Basic store".  What does your Seller Hub Overview page report for insertions this month?

You currently have 744 active listings. If you sold (or ended) over 256 items within this billing month and replaced some with new listings, they would exceed the 1000 allocation for the month. If any of those listings were posted in more than one category, each category would count, as an insertion.

Thank you for this great explanation, I see that I have used up my 1,000 listings for the month, which totally explains why we are now seeing insertion fees.  We were so focused on the Monthly Limits section of the overview page that we missed the Fixed Listings Section.  Appreciate this, hopefully it will help others too!
