When I am paying for an item from eBay.com, why does the platform switch me over to eBay.ca?

For some time now I have experienced difficulty paying for some items using PayPal as I will be about halfway through the process in .com, and the platform flips me over to .ca  and I either have to start over, or I'm dealing with a different set of parameters.

Yes, I do live in Canada, and .ca seems to be what the platform wants me to use as it recognizes that my computer is there. It can be even more fun if I'm travelling and I'm using my laptop. But that is another problem.

I set up my original eBay account in .com and my PayPal was also set up in .com, and I am most comfortable on that platform. Besides, eBay.com will give me access to more purchasing opportunities than eBay.ca as not all sellers have their sales listed on both platforms.

Most recently I was trying to pay a best offer on .com . When I began the process to accept the offer, the platform shunted me over to .ca , and the offer reverted to full price in .ca . It took some imaginative fiddling to get where I wanted to be and accept the seller's offer.

I know that the platform is trying to protect me, but all this flipping twixt .com and .ca is irksome, and several times I have lost messages to a seller and had to restart my attempt to contact them.

Is there any way I can get my account to just deal with the .com platform and not have to do the flip-flop with .ca ?
