What do I do if I paid for a FedEx guide and it was sent to me by USPS and it got lost?

I bought an item and was encouraged to do so because the seller was shipping via FedEx. But when I realized there were two shipping labels, one for FedEx and one for USPS, eBay closed the case despite my repeated complaints. I have the option to appeal.
What should I do to get my money or my package back?

Hi @koalad_3

You can appeal the case with eBay by providing clear evidence that the seller originally promised FedEx shipping but used USPS instead, which resulted in the package being lost. Here’s what you can do:

  1. Gather Evidence – Locate the listing details, seller’s shipping promise (if mentioned in messages or the listing), tracking numbers for both FedEx and USPS, and any communication with the seller.
  2. File an Appeal – Go to your eBay Purchase History, find the closed case, and submit an appeal with the gathered evidence.
  3. Contact the Seller – Politely ask if they are willing to refund you or assist in locating the package.
  4. File a Claim with USPS – If the package was lost under USPS, you can check if it was insured and file a claim for reimbursement: USPS Claims.
  5. Contact Your Payment Provider – If eBay doesn’t rule in your favor, check with PayPal or your credit card provider about disputing the charge.

Since you were expecting FedEx and the seller switched to USPS, this could be considered "Significantly Not as Described" in a dispute. Be clear in your appeal and include all relevant proof.

Please keep us updated on how the appeal process goes. Hopefully, eBay reviews the case fairly based on the shipping discrepancy.
