What are your thoughts about using this option? (Variation/ multi quantity listing)
Pros? Cons? Notice a difference in sales when using? (+/-)
Or is it just a tool to help list many items with little fee?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated?

Depending on what you're selling, I think it's a good to use.
If you have shirts, different sizes or colors, it great.
The only thing I don't like about them is so many sellers abuse it.
When you list 100 DVDs, all different titles, it's not so good.

Thank you so much for your reply. I sell mostly linens. I have Approx 12 diff shams (diff. Sizes, styles, colors etc) at any given time . sounds like, in my case it might be of value.
Do you find it gets “lost” among the other listings after a short while…?
I also am having diff. Setting one up. (I started a practice draft.). Is there a trick or does it get easier as one does it?
thanks again for all your thoughts.

One downside, if you have 12 different items and stick them all in one listing, you only have one listing.
If you listed the 12 in different listings, you would have a better chance of a buyer finding one of the items.
It's been a few years since I did a variation listing and they do take a little practice starting out.
Don't know if it gets much easier, the more you do them or not.
Just when you think you got it all down, they go and change something, then you gotta learn it all over again.

Thank you so much for your reply. It was very helpful indeed. One follow-up question if I may. How do buyers actually abuse this?

A variation listing is supposed to be used if you have the same item in different colors or sizes.
Like shirts, you have large and small in red or blue.
Some sellers will use them to list a bunch of DVDs, sports cards or records, which is actually different items.
Then you have some that will list an item for a cheap price, then when you make your selections, you find out the cheap price was for a button or a pair of shoe strings and not the item advertised.

Thank you again Ken for your reply. I appreciate the clarity and will watch out for those who use those tricks. It took me a tremendous amount of time and energy to learn how do use the variation option, but now that I seem to “get it” I like it. I am hoping that it encourages sales and the listing does not end up in the bottom of the pile.
Thank you again for the information.
