Unable to get onto my ebay account

About one year ago, after having more then 6oo sales/purchases my account was frozen by ebay.  Upon contacting them they could not understand why this happened as i had an excellent account. At first they blamed it on AOL and when contacting AOL they said i was good on their end and it was Ebay. Many calls were made to Ebay and each time their representative tried to change my password etc but was still unable to get me back on their site. I gave up for several months and then tried to get on again but to no success. Additional calls were made to Ebay and it was the same story, they were not able to solve my problem. 
They suggested i open up another account under another name but so far i have not done this due to my excellent record. Any suggestions other than changing my password, which i have tried to do. They requested i have them text me a way to change my password (which i do not recall) but the number they have is my landline number and of course i can not receive a text. I told them i would give them my husbands cell number but they said they could not do this. I am sure someone at Ebay can figure out this problem but unable to find such a person. Any suggestions?

Each one is blaming the other...  Who is this "they" who has been telling you these things?  Is one of them eBay's Customer Service?  My suggestion is to try a different browser.  Download the Firefox browser to your computer, and try opening your account with that.  BTW, this account you're posting with today, are you coming in through AOL with it?
