USPS tracking failure?

I shipped an item yesterday. I handed it over to Postal Works and got a receipt. 30 hours later the tracking information still says "Label created; USPS Awaiting Item". I contacted the Postal Works manager and she says the USPS picked up the package yesterday. How do I mark the item as shipped and / or how do I contact a real person at eBay to do it for me? Also, is there any way to alert USPS and get the tracking started?

USPS would have to scan the label in order for the tracking information to appear.

A "receipt" from a third party shipping service would not be adequate if the buyer were to file an item not received dispute if there is no tracking information.

Thanks for the reply. In fact, USPS tracking info started appearing on their website about 3 or 4 hours after my original post. Still no idea why the long delay. But otherwise, it looks like everything is working as it should.
