USPS LOST my package

I sent  huge box of books to MD via Media Mail with DC. DC showed that the

box stayed in TX for over a week, then went to a recovery center in MD. I filed

the lost package form online. I have gone in person to 2 different post offices

to talk to a supervisor(one was the PO where I mailed the box from) One

supervisor told me to call ACS, which I did(dead end). I also tried many times to call

USPS (what a joke!) USPS responded to the lost package form saying that there

was a delivery exception and the package was at the recovery center. Yesterday,

I actually got to talk to a supervisor at USPS. They said they didn't know what/where

the package was. I asked if there was a way to contact the recovery center. She said no.

This has been a nightmare. The only good thing is that my customer is being very

kind an patient about it. Help!! Does anyone have any suggestions as to who to

contact? The package has to be SOMEWHERE. TIA!

Re: USPS LOST my package

I don’t know what happened to your package but since your buyer is patient I’d wait a few days. Keep in touch with the buyer and see if the package resurfaces. This happened to me some years ago, I had a nice buyer too. Just as we had given up, the package was delivered to her. You just never know.

Re: USPS LOST my package

BTW, my package was never actually in the recovery center. It was a scan error or something.

Re: USPS LOST my package

IDK...it has now been almost month (next week) I told her that I would wait until

this weekend and refund her if it doesn't show. I believe her to be honest

enough to let me know ,IF they ever do get to her, to let me know and pay(repay)

Personally, I think that USPS somehow damaged the box, or opened it and

accidentally destroyed some of the books...they just won't own up to it. I taped

the label VERY well on it, so I do not think that was a problem. I wish they'd either

send them on to her, or back to me. This is the first time, in 20 years, that USPS has actually

LOST a package and not recovered it. It has been 3 weeks since the automated reply and

supposedly supervisors are looking in to it and will get back to me. SMH 😞

Re: USPS LOST my package

the ACS supervisor said that it was at the recovery center in Dallas,

USPS said in the email reply that it was at the recovery center

in MD. I cannot believe there is not some way to contact them 😞
