The "Buy it Now" button is not showing on my listing

I have someone that wants to buy my item.  They want to pay me what I put in the "Buy it Now" section. The problem is the "Buy it Now" button isn't showing on the auction page.  Because there are bids on the item it won't let me revise anything.  What should I do?  Can I cancel the auction?  I hate to do that it doesn't seem fair to the bidders. I hunted and hunted the Help section and can't find anything there to assist me.

Once a listing gets a bid, the buy it now price goes away and it is just an auction for the duration that you chose.

The buyer can no longer "buy now"

Encourage them to place the bid.  You cannot revise an item that currently has bids.

You should not cancel the listing as it has bids and others are interested in the item.  It is possible that the ending price will be higher than your buy it now price.

Buy It Now means Buy It NOW, not wait until after bidding starts and Buy It Then. It's an early-bird special for the potential first bidder to decide to buy at the fixed price instead of taking his/her chances on the auction. If the BIN button remained up until the auction ended regardless of the bidding it would act as a cap on the auction price, which is not it's intended purpose.

Years ago eBay experimented with keeping it longer than the first bid (but not until the end unless the current bid remained low relative to the BIN price) but decided against it (but had trouble rolling it back in those four categories where the experiment was happening, which are now the "Sticky BIN" categories where it stays up if the "current bid" is less than 50% of the BIN price). It also remains up if there is a Reserve Price until the Reserve is met.
