So I bought a Wheel of Fortune Magic the Gathering card and it was undeniably fake.. I started the return (eventhough his profile said no returns) to see if we could work something out, and was met with less than ideal results. So what should I do now? Wait the three days and see if Ebay can step in, or just lick my wounds and move on with life? I have and sent the seller photos comparing the fake with a real card.

When a seller has a No Returns policy, that is only for buyer's remorse: changed mind, doesn't like it, doesn't fit, found it cheaper elsewhere. If any of those reasons is given by the buyer wanting to return the item, the seller can decline the return. However, if the buyer states Item Not Received or Item Not as Described/Damaged, then ebay's Money Back Guarantee trumps the no return policy, and the seller will be responsible for accepting the return and refunding the buyer when s/he gets the item back (or seller can give a full refund and NOT require return of the item). If seller refuses, ebay can refund the buyer from the seller's funds and not require the buyer to return the item. Seller doesn't get the FVF credited, and a defect is recorded on seller's account for an unresolved transaction.

I chose the wrong return reason, and now I think I'm just out the money now? or is there a way to change that?

If you didn't choose one of the 6 not as described reasons then the seller can deny the refund ON eBay. the last 6 on this screen shot are not as described reasons>
If you chose a remorse reason, the top 5 ones, then the seller can deny the refund. You can not change the reason once you open the case nor can you open a new refund request on eBay.
If you did select one of the bottom 6 reasons then you can ask eBay to step in and help on the 4th business day after you opened the case. See this help page>

Your other options if you did file the wrong refund request is to file a refund request with your payment processor. If you checked out with PayPal you have 180 days to file a refund request on their site. Or if you didn't use PayPal contact your bank or credit card to see what protections you have.
