Do shoes have to be a certain price to be put through the ebay authentication? Id like my sales to be authenticated but don't really see an option on how it works.

The minimum price is $75. Authentication is not optional - if your shoes qualify, eBay will add it.

Thanks, that answered my question. But what about auctions? What if a starting bid is like $50 then ends over $75.

The policy says price starting at $75, so I assume if an auction goes over $75, the guarantee will be added. I do not see the issue of higher auction price, or lower best offer price addressed.
I took a Quick Look at sold items and reviewed 2 auctions that showed the guarantee in ended items - both started well below $75 but ended well above $75.

Thanks! That answered my question. They sell better if authentication is done. Really I just want buyers to be assured they are authentic. I know it makes a difference to me when I'm buying.
