If the item qualifies, media mail is usually the cheapest method of shipping. You must use your own shipping boxes. If you are shiping Priority, there are flat rate boxes which cost the same regardless of where the buyer lives, as well as priority boxes that ship by weight/distance (that you order from USPS.COM and they ship to you free of charge).
I ship from California, so the flat rate priority boxes are rarely used, as my items are not heavy.
