Shipping small metal items in flimsy envelopes take note.

Sellers who ship small metal items in flimsy envelopes should include a cardboard stiffener the size of the envelope and tape the metal items to the stiffener envelope. Otherwise, the envelope may get jammed, shredded and deformed in Postal Service machinery and the contents lost.

Ask me how I know.

@dewlapp   Actually, depending on the thickness of both the metal piece and the cardboard insert an envelope may fail the inspection at the counter at the Post Office, they have a gauge they slip envelopes through and if they fail then they have to be Hand Sorted ... meaning they can not go through a machine.  Additional charges may apply.

The advice should include having the Postal Clerk check the envelope and the customer should explain what is inside ,,, they will then advise the customer the best way to ship the item.

I should have said card stock instead of cardboard.......the main thing is something that will keep the envelope from collapsing on the long side.  The metal I'm referring to is small to tiny screws in a pack of 50 or so.  Some sellers use the ultra-flimsy Par Avion envelopes, and they often fail.
