Hello, I sold a thin lightweight Ronald McDonald sign.
I put item on scale with box and it stated 2 lbs when I posted the item.
Then when I packaged the item last night, I think it might weigh more.
Will I get in trouble and banned from Ebay & do not want the customer to upset & charged more.
How do I pay for extra handing out of my pocket?
Wil the post office inform me.
Sorry new to the whole selling and want to make it right.
Thanks for your help in this matter.
Diane

If you purchase your label through eBay, you will need to adjust the weight before completing the purchase. If you purchase the label at the PO, they will weigh the package an charge you accordingly. The best practice is to not even mention any of this to the buyer. You're not allowed to charge the buyer more than what is shown in the listing. You just cover any extra cost.
If you don't have one, you should purchase a postal scale so you can accurate weigh your packages. They usually cost somewhere around $30 and you can find them to purchase on eBay.
