So eBay doesn't seem to have an actual customer service department? No one you can email or chat with other than a robot? Anyway I sold something and I'm very new to eBay because it was very intimidating and I wish I had never posted anything. I put in the weight of the item I was selling and it charged the person who purchased it $11 and change to ship it. I get to the post office and they tell me that that's like half the cost to ship it. I went in to another listing that I have which is the same items just a different lot and checked and I put in the exact weight that the post office measured and eBay says the buyer will pay $7. The shipping is 22! What gives? I can't see the original ad of the item that sold to see whether or not I somehow put in the incorrect information but based on the listing that's still active with definite correct weight and size and trees and is shipping being way off I tend to think that this is an eBay problem. Yet I cannot contact anybody it seems to ask what to do. The post office took it anyway and said that it might just go through or it might get kicked back to me. I just don't want the buyer to think I'm some jerk. This is why I do Facebook marketplace

You need to use calculated shipping based on buyer location, exact weight and precise dimensions of the prepackaged item when listing an item for sale on Ebay.
Here's how to use calculated shipping when listing your items:

But how do I know The shipping destination until they buy it? I didn't have any option to set a shipping price after the sale. I just got told that it was purchased and this is how much they paid for shipping and it was half of what is required. All I can do is set the dimensions and the weight of the package and eBay is saying some crazy number that's not even remotely correct. And I can't find any kind of customer service to ask anything. I'd like to know if I somehow set the weight wrong on the original listing. It won't let me look at it. All I know is that the current listing I have with the exact same weight as what I shipped today is not giving the right shipping price

If you use the calculated shipping as I described above when you create your listing, the shipping charges will be figured for you...based on method of shipping, buyer shipping location and weight/dimensions so that when a buyer looks at your listing they will see the correct shipping charges which should equal the amount you will pay to ship the item to the buyer.
