Shipping Label created with tracking and not in the hands of USPS

I stopped shopping on Ebay because so many sellers are printing labels right after my purchase and the tracking provided does not indicate the post office has it in it's possession yet Ebay is stating the item has been shipped. Then for several days, there is no indication the item is in the post office system and has actually been shipped. I ask the sellers about this and I do not get any answers. If the post office isn't scanning the items (one seller did tell me this) and I get the package without it ever being scanned in the system, that would indicate the seller did ship it, but I do not know this until after I have received the package. It would help if the seller  provided information that they actually took it to the post office or had it picked up and they have proof. I am going through this right now. I purchased something on June 17th, a label was created and the seller told me to "please wait" without any further information. That was 6 days ago and I have NO IDEA if the item was ever shipped and the seller is no longer reponding and I cannot ask ebay to intercede until after the estimated arrival date which is ten days after the purchase.

Buyers do not need to obsess about tracking their items as long as their purchases are delivered on time.It is immaterial as to when the seller actually turns over the package to the shipper, in possesion of the shipper or when it is scanned, etc. etc. There is no reason to pester sellers regarding shipping status. That's a good way to get blocked by the seller.

When I make a purchase on Ebay, I just pay for the item and don't pay attention to the shipping status details. When the latest estimated date of delivery passes without receiving my item, THEN I take action and file the Refund Request. Much less stressful that way.

I see  you are a frequent seller, I am only a buyer. All I asked the seller is if they have taken it to the post office or if it has been picked up, that provided me with an indication it has actually been shipped, since items have come well past the estimated shipping date or not come at all many times, in this case, it helps to know since you can ask if the purchase be cancelled if it hasn't been shipped since I find the item on other sites and can receive them with excellent tracking. I think this is more than fair and it doesn't tie up the buyers and the sellers are happy to have happy customers in my own opinion.

There is no action you can take until the estimated delivery date has passed whether the seller has shipped or not. Yes it's nice to have a tracking #, but it's not required that one be provided. It's also not required that a seller have a package scanned when he ships. For example some sellers take a truckload of packages to the PO dock and drop them off - no one is going to scan those packages. They may pick up a scan at the regional sorting center or they may not be scanned until delivery. Few sellers are going to actually pay for a shipping label and then not ship.

Because of these reasons and several others, you have been advised to focus on the estimated delivery date and not whether or not you receive a tracking # or a tracking update...because there is no action to take until that date passes.

(Regarding cancelling an order...buyers cannot cancel orders, they can only request that an order be cancelled. The formal request can be used within one hour of purchase. It's up to the seller to honor it or not. This is because cancellations cost sellers time and money they cannot recoup and disrupt the marketplace for other buyers. To determine if you are dealing with a reliable seller, it's important to review the feedback comments from other buyers so you know what to expect before you commit to buy.)

The seller contacted me and told me they do not have the item and told me they would refund me but they did not. Ebay stepped in and provided the refund and found them to be in violation of Ebay policies.
