Seller won't respond to question

I would very much like to make an offer on an item (it does have the 'Make an Offer' option), but I need the seller to answer my question about the condition if the item, which is not provided in the listing description. It is porcelain, so I really need to know about chips, cracks, etc. I have sent multiple 'Contact the Seller' messages over the last 6 months - no replies. The item has been listed for almost 2.5 years. Is there any way to find out if the seller is still active/alive/interested in selling?

Edited to add that the feedback profile shows 12 feedbacks (and presumably transactions) in the past 6 months, 5 of which were in the past month.

Sellers are not required to answer customer questions, although it's generally considered good customer service to do so.  Find it from a different seller if the listing does not meet your criteria.

Thank you.

I did try to find it elsewhere, but cannot.

Seller won't respond to question

Hi @teresa9377

Not all sellers answer questions.  If the seller blocked you after receiving a few of the messages from you … your subsequent messages wouldn’t even be forwarded to them.

You would be completely protected by eBay’s Money Back Guarantee if you purchased the item and it contained ANY flaws that weren’t mentioned and photographed in the listing.  [Trying to buy it would also tell you whether you are blocked.]

BTW, you can tell from the seller’s feedback profile if they have sold items recently.

Thank you! Yes, I did think to look at the feedback profile and saw 5 transactions (both buying and selling) in the last month. I can't imagine why they would block me as I am always courteous. Oh well, life will go on without the item - the situation just made me very curious!
