Anyone know why ebay allows so much time for sellers to get their purchased items shipped out? I ship my sold items same or next day. I won't buy unless shipping is within 2-3 or at the longest 5-7. Ebay allows the seller to take up to 30 days to ship a purchased item. I find that to be ridiculous! I purchased and paid for an item on Dec.19, not realizing the seller stated it took them forever to get their items shipped ( because I never had a situation where this amount of time was even noticed, most sellers pride themselves in fast shipping ) I have asked for a refund due to the amount of time that has past, and I was told i would get one, but that was over a week ago. I have gotten nothing. No refund, no item., no contact but they have had my money all this time. The item I purchased is 2 states away and I figured it would be to me by Christmas or shortly after. I have no use for item now, it's been way to long. Anyway, just wondered who the heck in ebay decided that a seller should have up to a month to ship an item when it should be no longer than 5-7 days. I seriously doubt many sellers thankfully take nowhere near even half that amount of time to ship their sold items, but for the buyers that over look those little letters stating the shipping time and get stuck like I am....it's just not right and it needs to be changed. Again, no one needs more 5-7 days to ship an item. Even that is a long time ! 📦📦 🙄

Your reply that eBay does not dictate a seller's handling time. I have never seen a 30-day handling time.....
If you go to ebay customer service and type - Estimated Delivery Date - in the blue where it says what can we help you with today , the copied and pasted information below will come up.
I can not post the link to the page, even though it is an ebay link, it still wot let me do it.
The estimated delivery date is based on the seller's handling time, the shipping service selected, and when the seller receives cleared payment. In certain cases, the estimated delivery date will vary. By knowing the estimated delivery date, you can determine how long it will take to receive your item.
Handling time
Sellers are required to specify how long they will take to package and ship the item after receiving cleared payment. Sellers may select a handling time between the same business day and 30 business days.

Every item has an estimated delivery date - always check the shipping tab for the delivery commitment, don’t assume.
There are reasons that sellers may need longer, such as custom creations, pre orders, etc. You may not think a seller needs more time than you need, but since eBay allows it, it is your responsibility as a buyer to pay attention to the delivery estimate.
If your item arrives after the estimate delivery date, you can open a not as described return.
If your item is late, you can open a not received claim. There is no way to force the seller to refund before then.

Understood about custom creations, pre orders, etc. one would expect those kinds of things to take longer. But I still think the time allowed for shipping collectibles and those sort of things is to long. I do appreciate you taking the time to respond though, thank you.

eBay does not dictate a seller's handling time. I have never seen a 30-day handling time and you should look at the estimated delivery dates before purchasing. It does not look like the seller is going to refund your money and he is not obligated since the estimated delivery dates are on the listing. I agree handling time should be no more that 3 - 5 days.
