I've never had this happen before so I am unsure how to handle it. I had an auction with 3 bids, the winner won it for $480. After 24 hours, they messaged me asking if I would cancel their order because they weren't thinking when they bid. It is such a bummer because the bidder before them could have won it and I wouldn't have to do to all this extra work trying to figure out how to handle this. Does anyone have experience with this? I have never dealt with this before. Thanks in advance!

If you want to be nice, cancel the transaction and relist. Otherwise, wait five days and cancel for non-payment, which will put a strike on the buyer's account.
After you cancel you can see if any of the other bidders have Second Chance Offer enabled to offer to sell to that bidder, otherwise just relist it, the other bidders will see it.

They now paid because they didn't want the non-payment strike and are still asking for me to cancel. Will I get a strike or lose money now?

You can now file a cancellation with the reason Buyer Requested. You will have to fund the refund from your funds because the buyer's payment is in process and won't arrive to your bank account for a few more days. You will be credited for the FVF that will be charged.
