eBay's money back guarantee supersedes your own personal policy, at least in cases where the buyer claims the item is not as described or damaged.
You do have the option of refunding without a return, or else refunding after a return has been made. Generally, unless the item is worth less than the cost of shipping, it is in your interest to accept a return.
