Security

I am a MCSE and have been in the field for 40 years. I wish eBay would explain what (generally) what security protocols are in place.  What security systems do they contract with (Crowdstrike, PaloAlto, Cloudflare, etc? Personally I will never give information to eBay until they can show me that their security is better than The Pentagon's. The banks are different. Their is a built in insurance policy like the FDIC. It's seems that they want to create their own "PayPal" at our expense. As it stands I use Etsy until I can find an English speaker at eBay that can satisfy my criteria. Maybe someone in the Forum can ease my concerns.

Re: Security

Did you know that eBay and Etsy use the same payment processor?  Adyen handles both.  Is your concern with bank account info, or the actual cash processing?  Adyen processed several million dollars of transactions for me between the 2 sites over several years with no issues.

If your concern is your bank account info, open a second checking account for your eBay and Etsy business. Lots of sellers do that. Otherwise, it is your choice to not sell here.

If you don't provide bank info so they can pay you for your recent sale, the money will eventually be turned over to your state as abandoned funds. You could check your state's secretary of state's office to see how soon they have to do that.  My state allows 3 years, but I doubt that Adyen would wait that long.

eBay certainly will not share info on safety and security systems, and I doubt that anyone here can provide any info that will make you feel it is safer than the Pentagon.  Good luck, whatever you choose.

Don't expect eBay to divulge the security protocols the company uses, not to you, nor me, nor the fence post.  It wouldn't make sense to tip off thieves.  If I made it known to the burglar world that there's a bear trap waiting for them just inside a particular window, they'd know to break in through a different window.

I had to look up MCSE.  The way you're using it, is that the Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert?  While looking, I also saw that Microsoft announced the retirement of all MCSA, MCSE, and MCSD certifications.  If that means you got laid off, I'm sorry.
