I recently bid on an electronic item, with the sale to close on a Wed. When my bid hit over $200, the sale suddenly end & I received a msg I had "won." I thought it was odd but it was Christmas & figured I had lost track of time. Immediately got a msg indicating they could not ship until they received payment. Not that unusual given the amount. I paid via Venmo PAYPAL with a credit card as the form of payment. Fast forward, it was supposedly shipped on Christmas Eve. I've asked 3x for tracking info with no response. I believe I've been scammed but can't do anything until the end of the shipping window (1/4/24). Any thoughts on how to handle this? Also, I didn't realize until a couple days after the purchase, the seller had just created the account and had no prior sales history! I've sold & bought on Ebay for almost 30 years...never had an issue! Any thoughts besides waiting it out...
EDIT: PAID WITH PAYPAL, NOT VENMO!

When it's past the estimated delivery date shown in your Purchase History, you have up to 30 days to use the option next to the transaction to open a case for an item not received. The seller will have 3 business days to prove delivery or refund. If he doesn't, go back to the case on day 4 and use the option to ask eBay to step in. They will force the refund.

Venmo is not an acceptable method of payment on Ebay.
Since you did not go through the Ebay checkout to pay for the item, you have no buyer protection.

Once you paid with Venmo the sale was off eBay. So now the delivery window is meanless.
I don't know but can you do a charge back with Venmo ? If not contact you credit card company.

I apologize! I used PayPal...not Venmo.

Thank you! Especially the timing component! Happy New Year! (and let's hope it arrives!)

Did you receive your package?
Did you pay on eBay choosing PayPal or did the sellerr specifically ask you to pay with PayPal?
