Sales tax

I've been getting charged frequently sales tax on items outside of the state I reside. Fortunately I've gotten a refund but sometimes it's the seller assuming the cost and I don't think it's fair. Why is that? Is there anywhere I can send this request?

You are located in Uruguay.

ebay collects sales tax and remits them to the state the item is being shipped to due to Marketplace Facilitator laws.  If you are using a reshipper/freight forwarder, I suggest you select one in a state without a sales tax, such as Delaware, New Hampshire, Oregon, Montana.

There are many reshippers located in Florida, and as of July 1, 2021, sales tax is now being collected for items shipped to Florida.
